FAQ
DO YOU TAKE INSURANCE?
Currently I do not take insurance. I am considered an out-of-network provider, and I can provide monthly receipts that can be submitted to your insurance for possible reimbursement. Health insurance plans or employee benefit plans can vary greatly, so it’s best to contact your insurance provider beforehand to verify how much your plan reimburses for out-of-network psychotherapy services.
I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN THE FIRST SESSION?
The aim of first session is for me to listen to you and ask you questions so that I get a good understanding of what your life is like and would look like when you are done with therapy. This will help us to set and define specific goals together.  In the first few sessions, I will also ask questions, to get the information I need, to help you best. I also encourage you to ask any questions you may have.
WHAT IS THE FREQUENCY OF SESSIONS?
It depends on your goals. I generally see clients weekly until they meet their initial goals in therapy. Once initial goals are met, client's usually taper down to bimonthly, monthly , quarterly or yearly sessions based on client needs. The decision is made in a collaborative way, and most times in conversation, with me bringing in my professional opinions and discernment, and requesting your feedback and input on changes to frequency. We decide together, what will work best through the course of therapy.
HOW LONG WILL I NEED THERAPY?
The length of therapy depends on your goals. I provide both short term (12-14 sessions or less to work on specific goals) and long term therapy for those seeking deeper healing and ongoing insight building. In your consultation and as I get to know you better, we will discuss any questions around lenght of therapy that you may have. I encourage you to bring up this topic with me at any time.
HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
An individual therapy session is between $175-$200 for a 50 minute session. Â This may vary for EMDR and family/couples session due to the time of appointments. Â Cost is always discussed and agreed upon in advance.
